Welcome to PlantGo (“we,” “our,” or “us”). We are committed to transparency and safeguarding your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application and services collect, use, and protect your information when you interact with PlantGo.

1. Information We Collect

PlantGo only accesses information strictly necessary to provide botanical exploration, species identification, and user account synchronization:

• Google Account Information: If you sign in via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo provided by Google Identity Services to authenticate your account and sync your flora journal.
• Device Location (GPS): With your consent, PlantGo accesses your device’s fine location while using the app to show nearby flora on the botanical exploration radar map and record the location of plant sightings. We do not track your location in the background.
• Camera & Photo Library: PlantGo accesses your camera and photos when you scan specimens to identify flora using automated taxonomy vision algorithms.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To identify wild plant specimens and display botanical classification data.
• To display nearby specimens on the interactive GPS radar map.
• To track your Explorer rank, XP, badges, and milestones.
• To sync your discoveries across devices.

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to advertisers or third-party data brokers.

3. Third-Party Integrations

PlantGo utilizes trusted third-party providers for core functionalities:

• Google Identity Services: Provides secure authentication. Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
• OpenStreetMap & Leaflet: Delivers map data for outdoor flora exploration.
• Pl@ntNet Taxonomy API: Analyzes botanical photos to provide plant species classifications.

4. Data Retention & Account Deletion

You have full control over your data. To delete your PlantGo account:

• In the app: open the Profile tab while signed in and tap Delete my account. Your account is deleted immediately.
• By email: if you no longer have the app, email albertrohit23@gmail.com from the address you signed in with. Your account will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Deletion removes your profile (name, email, avatar), XP and level, all sightings you posted including their photos and locations, your vouches on other sightings, and your settings. No account data is kept after deletion, except where the law requires us to keep it.
